The first action is to be able to stand on one leg for 10 seconds.[0] This is a great way to strengthen leg muscles, which can become weaker with age.

The second action is to be able to get up from a chair without using one’s hands. Spiegel suggests that every time you get up from a chair, you should do it without using your hands to do squats.

The third action is to be able to get up off the floor.[0] Spiegel advises that if you can do this, you should do it every single day for the rest of your life.[0] This will help ensure that you have the muscles to do it for the rest of your life.[1]

Finally, Spiegel suggests that you should be able to lay flat on your stomach without feeling back pain.[0] If this is not possible, then there is some stretching to do.
