CrossFit Open 23.1 Announced: Watch the Live Reveal on Feb. 16th!
The start of the 2023 CrossFit Open has been announced with the unveiling of the initial workout, the 23.1 Workout. The eagerly awaited event was announced on February 16th in Madrid, Spain, and it has already set the stage for what is to come for the rest of the season.[0] Completing the CrossFit Open is the initial step in qualifying for the CrossFit Games. This workout provides an indication of who might be a potential champion.[0] This workout must be recorded on video by athletes and submitted by February 20th.[0]
The start of the 2023 CrossFit season is approaching. All attention in the world of CrossFit will be on Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain, on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 as the announcement for Open Workout 23.1 is made.[1] Adrian Bozman, the Competition Director, will explain the workout in detail.[1] By Monday, February 20th, 2023, hundreds of thousands of athletes from around the globe will have completed their workout and submitted their times.[1] Elite Games competitors Laura Horvath, Gabriela Migała, Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson, and Lazar Đukić will be the first to attempt 23.1.[1]
Viewers can access all future live announcements for the 2023 Open by tuning in to the main show on the CrossFit Games YouTube channel.[2] The action will begin at 12:00 PM Pacific Time (3 PM Eastern Time, 8 PM Greenwich Mean Time, 7 AM Australian Eastern Daylight[1]
Hungarian Laura Horvath, the current third-fittest woman on earth, is set to compete against Gabriela Migała from Poland in the 2022 CrossFit Games. Gabriela was ranked eighth in the previous year’s Games and is aiming for a top-three spot this time.[3] Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson and Lazar Dukic, both veterans of the Games, will compete against each other in the men’s division[4]
