Gaining Insight from Bodybuilding Legend Jay Cutler

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler is a four-time Mr. Olympia winner who ended Ronnie Coleman’s eight-year unbeaten run in 2006.[0] After a sixth-place finish at the 2013 Mr. Olympia, Cutler retired and has continued to score wins in his day-to-day life a decade later. Recently, Cutler has been helping rising star Andrew Jacked with posing lessons and has been giving advice on incorporating cardio into training programs.

Cutler recommends that cardio should be done either first thing in the morning or after weight training. This is to prevent the burning of glycogen prior to weight training.[1] He also suggests using higher rep ranges to build more size and achieve a more “inflated muscle look”.[2]

In another YouTube clip, Cutler revealed his thoughts on the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia prize money.[3] He noted that the Arnold Classic has grown significantly in recent years, with the prize money coming close to the Mr. Olympia payout. Back when Cutler was competing, the Mr. Olympia was $100,000 or $110,000 while the Arnold Classic was paying $100,000.[3] Now, the Mr. Olympia has been bumped up to $300,000.

Cutler’s advice and insights have been invaluable to Jacked. Chris “Psycho” Lewis, Jacked’s coach, has praised the young bodybuilder for his attitude and work ethic. Lewis believes that the Arnold Classic this year will showcase the best version of Jacked that we’ve ever seen. Cutler also noted that the Arnold Classic is an important stepping stone for bodybuilders looking to build a legacy in the sport.

Overall, Jay Cutler has been a great source of advice and motivation for bodybuilders.[0] His tips on incorporating cardio, rep ranges, and the Arnold Classic have helped many aspiring bodybuilders reach their goals. We look forward to seeing more of Cutler’s insights in the future.
